Founded in 1996, the Somerset Hills Education Foundation (SHEF) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote and provide educational opportunities through innovative programs for the benefit of the students of The Somerset Hills School District, which includes students from Bernardsville, Far Hills, Peapack, Gladstone and Bedminster.
Independent, not-for-profit, and run solely by volunteers for over 17 years, SHEF has provided more than $900,000 in donations to The Somerset Hills School District since 1996 through teacher initiated project grants and major initiatives funding.
Funds are raised throughout the year via our Annual Giving Campaign, the Staff Contribution Campaign, the Staff Tribute Program, the Peter J. Miller Endowment Fund, and this year's major SHEF fundraiser, "Sunset at Blairsden," which will be held on, from .
Proceeds from our Annual Giving Campaign and from "Sunset at Blairsden" will support SHEF's major initiatives for 2014: the purchasing of Chromebooks and classroom library books for our students.
SHEF supporters include parents, citizens, and businesses who share the belief that an investment in strong public schools is essential to the quality of life and future well-being of a town that thrives socially, culturally and educationally.
We want our students to stand on their toes and reach for the stars...
In 2006, SHEF was honored by the Middle Atlantic Consortium of Education Foundations garnering the “In Search of Excellence” award in recognition of our outstanding fundraising performance at the Chili Cook-Off Event.
