Bedwell Builders (Fall, 2012) – The Bedwell Builders Club for 3rd and 4th grade students uses Lego kits (robotics, famous structures, Mars Rover and digital designer) to explore design and helps foster interest in the middle school robotics club. Kits are also incorporated into classroom lessons.
Digital Storytelling for Young Learners (Fall, 2012) – Through the purchase of an Ipad, keyboard and VGA adapter this SHEF grant has funded the introduction of an educational technique called Digital Story Telling. Where Did We Come From? (Fall, 2012) – Bernardsville Middle School students are taught a lesson on immigration and culture, asking each student to research their families own immigration story and the country and culture from where they came. Materials purchased through this SHEF grant allow the students to preserve these stories in a binder that is kept in the middle school library for all students to access.

Additionally these cameras allow students to prepare digital lab portfolios which are increasingly required for college applications.
Exploring the Ancient World at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Fall, 2012) - 12 ESL students traveled to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to participate in a cross-disciplinary field trip. Inspiration, Motivation and Composition: Percussion Ensemble Artistry & Performance with Michael Eagle - (Spring, 2013) – This SHEF grant will facilitate the creation of a percussion ensemble for middle school and high school percussionists. Conventional percussion in the school setting rarely showcases the percussionist and only allows for a few parts for a large number of students. A percussion ensemble would engage all percussion students at a new level, would encourage original compositions and will culminate in a performance at the spring band concert.
