PETER J. MILLER

The Somerset Hills Education Foundation (SHEF) will be establishing an Endowed Fund in honor of Superintendent Peter J. Miller.

On June 30, 2013, Pete Miller will be retiring from The Somerset Hills School District after serving the district admirably for 35 years. Establishing an endowment in the name of Pete Miller would clearly recognize his many contributions, his values and his long-term commitment to The Somerset Hills School District.

The Somerset Hills Education Foundation is proud to take the lead in making this a reality before his departure. Pete came to The Somerset Hills School District right after graduating from college. He served as a technology teacher, department supervisor, assistant principal, guidance director, curriculum director, and assistant superintendent before filling the top spot as superintendent, which he has held since 2003. Pete has served the district in a professional, thoughtful, and kind manner, with a high degree of dedication and integrity.

The Somerset Hills School District serves just over 2000 students who come from Bernardsville, Bedminster (9-12 grades), Far Hills, Peapack, and Gladstone. The district is ranked among the best in the state by New Jersey Monthly Magazine and among the best in the nation by Newsweek Magazine. Parents, past parents, alumni, former and current teachers, staff and friends can make donations in any amount at any time to the Peter J. Miller Endowment Fund. If you have questions, please contact Lynne Brum (lbrum@verizon.net; 908-675-7260) or Penelope Ayers, (pjayers1@me.com; 908-696-0535) Co-Vice Chairs of SHEF.
